Back to Work

Monday, February 28th, 2005

Spring break is over, my brother has come and gone and reality kicked me in the butt today. Long, long day.
But I had a great time having my brother around to hang out with. We watched movies, saw Halifax and at A LOT of food. He also got a taste of Halifax in the winter - although I have to say it was pretty mild while he was here.
On Saturday, He and I went to the market next door (I love that place) and then at noon we took a tour of the Alexander Keith’s Brewery (the market resides within the walls of the brewery). The over zealous re-enactors were too funny for words. A nice way to start a saturday though, two pints of beer drunk in about 15 minutes.
So yeah, I had a good break - a nice mix of work and fun. Today, however, was too much work for a first day back. This means the Julianne is going to bed. Night!

The Big Day

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2005

Chris arrives today for his fun filled Halifax vacation. It’s been snowing all day but it looks to be slowing down so there should be no problems landing. Our fun little winter thaw is long over so he’ll have to deal with the cold, but I’m sure he’ll survive somehow.
I’ve had a busy day already, I think I need to take a nap so that I am awake when he lands.

Trying to Ruin my Reputation

Monday, February 21st, 2005

May my parents forgive me for this but I just had to share these pics. I went to a sexy food party on Saturday (see previous entry) and I ended up taking spicy nut balls and hot jezebel - both were a hit. Some other foods that came along - passion fruit soup, twigs and berries, lots of chocolate desserts and then there was this Thank you Barry for bringing such a conversation piece to the table. (you can see my spicy nut balls in the top corner) A little tradition has also begun, sexy scrabble. Yeah, it’s more like raunchy scrabble and spelling doesn’t matter and phrases are all good. So now I am posting the end results of two games and one “game” where we gave up on the board and just put down words. Please, if you don’t want to read dirty words do not open these links. For everyone else, enjoy!

Another Day, Another Dollar

Friday, February 18th, 2005

I earned money today, sort of. Dalhousie gives out bursaries to students in need and I love it. All you do is apply, give them your student loan info and then in two weeks they give you money. Never did I get something like this from Elmira, stingy bastards. So now I’m totally going to blow the money on….shipping my stuff home! Nothing but the best boxes and packing tape for my personal belongings!
Tomorrow I’m going to a sexy foods potluck dinner. I’m doing appetizers and I’ve got spicy nut balls already lined up…any other ideas?

Had to Share

I ate the best mango tonight, made my evening. It took a week to ripen but man was it worth it. Go mango, go!

Winter Blues

Wednesday, February 16th, 2005

Winter is killing me slowly and so I thought posting pictures from Hawaii would cheer myself, and everyone else suffering from winter, up.

There you have it, warm, happy pictures to keep your mind off winter.

Thanks Chris

Humph

Saturday, February 12th, 2005

I’m working on a case of winter blues, senioritis and nervousness about the future. AAAAHHHHH! yeah, that didn’t make me feel any better. I shall continue to hope that spring comes early, school goes smoothly and my fairy godmother takes care of the future, oh and pays my student loans.
