South

Monday, May 30th, 2005

Yes, I am moving South. This is the first time I have moved that direction. It seemed for a while that I was trying to get as far north as I possibly could but then I hit Nova Scotia and decided that was the end. No more blizzards please. Soon I shall be saying “I wish I had a snowbank to play in, it’s too hot here!” Oh well, at least it’s not Florida:)

Perfecting the Art of Procrastination

Wednesday, May 25th, 2005

I have many plans for the day but thankfully, I have managed to come up with many reasons not to get started on them. For instance, no packing shall occur until I see a jeweler about my ring. I can’t see a jeweler until I have a car and right now my mom has the car. Excellent. That is just one condition, there are many. Eventually, things will be set in motion but until then I’m going to sit back and relax…or write entries in my blog.

Packing

Tuesday, May 17th, 2005

I spent most of today packing my bedroom, well starting to pack it. I can’t believe how much junk I have collected after only 24 years. I will start living like a minimalist from now on…right. I found things I thought I had lost for good, and then tossed them out anyway so I wouldn’t have to pack them. I fear that I will have to go back through my boxes in order to streamline them. This is when I need a basement so I could chuck everything I don’t want to see into it. Good idea, if I can’t see it, it doesn’t exist. Things could get a little scary here soon. I’m going to have to bribe the garbage men to pick up all my trash bags. Ha. Wish me luck!

I Can’t Stop with the Entries

Thursday, May 12th, 2005

Here I go again, third entry today. I was reading the NYTimes online and saw this piece that I thought would be interesting to my costume studies friends, and my mom. If the trend in this article continues then I think there is going to be a need for costum clothing and I’m going to be right there desiging it. Yeah, take that.

Visit to my Brother’s Place

Thursday, May 12th, 2005

I thought some pictures from my time with my brother might amuse some people. Day one, a quick visit to my brother’s place.
As you can see, he was showing me his new camera.
On Sunday we went to Mt. Vernon where there were sheep, loose!!! I couldn’t resist the temptation to chase them. I’m actually slow motion running here but it looks good in the picture, don’t you think?

Finally, a picture of the capitol building, from inside the conservatory. Had to get at least one patriotic pic in here.

Time, Where Have You Gone?

Thursday, May 12th, 2005

I’m on vacation, and because I’m vacation nothing gets done. I try to be productive, I plan, and think about it, and schedule things but nothing gets done. Well, almost nothing. I have been trying to pack a little every day but it’s just no fun. It’s not that I don’t like to put stuff in boxes, it’s that I don’t like trying to figure out what is going to happen with all the stuff I don’t want to take. I have to sort through 24 years of keepsakes and pick out what means something and what doesn’t. How do I know what I will want to look at another 24 years from now? Perhaps those silly stickers from childhood will all of the sudden be very necessary. I can’t handle this stress. Why can’t I just shrink it all into miniature size and enlarge it when I see fit? That would be very helpful and solve lots of storage problems. Perhaps someone reading this blog will know how to do that and will get their butt in gear and make one. All I say to them is WORK FASTER!

Vacation

Sunday, May 8th, 2005

I’m writing to you, internet, from my brother’s apartment. It’s been a nice couple of days although I had hoped for nicer weather on friday. I’ve been seeing the area, going to museums and eating out a lot. Last night I went to a restuarant with friends of his and it wasn’t till we had exited the building that chris told me I had a “nasal passenger.” How long had there been a booger hanging out of my nose and why hadn’t anyone said anything earlier?!!! How embaressing. I will now be even more paranoid about my nose and the possibility of boogers being out in the open for all to see. I could develop a nervous twitch that involves looking in a mirror everything 30 seconds, that might work. Stupid nose.

Home

Sunday, May 1st, 2005

So I’ve been home for a couple of days now but silly me I forgot my password to my blog…don’t ask. So now it’s all figured out and I can once again post my sweet little nothings.
Yesterday I had a graduation party and it was such a good time. It had been ages since I’d seen my family and friends, really happy that everyone could come, except dana. dana, where were you?
Tomorrow I am going to Williamsburg to look for apartments. Hopefully, I’ll be back on Wednesday with an apartment…not that I’ll be bringing the apartment home, but that I’ll have a lease:)
