I was checking out the BBC website when I came across an article about “The Fat Man Walking.” I hadn’t heard anything about this guy but he’s doing something pretty amazing, walking across the U.S. to lose weight and become a better person. The website is www.fatmanwalking.com and it’s worth a look. He’s going to be walking through Ohio and PA soon so maybe some of my family will see him. Let me know if you do!
If you haven’t already noticed, the site’s undergone something of a visual change.
Julie’s site has been updated the site to the latest version of WordPress, which includes a much better default theme than the previous default theme. I never got around to really fixing up the theme for her blog before, so other than the rotating mastheads, I don’t believe there’s really any loss here. I do plan on bring back some form of rotating graphic for her… at some point.
Regarding comments: You may need to get your first comment after the update approved. This is to cut down on comment spam (ugh.), so if you post a comment and it doesn’t show up immediately, that’s why. As soon as I get the e-mail (which is fairly quickly), I approve them and they show up. Once you’ve had a comment approved, as long as you use the same name and e-mail address, it’ll just go straight through.
I have just recently returned from this Saturday’s bike trip and it was much different from last weeks. For one thing, it was 30 degrees colder and windy. However, I managed to go 43 miles! Now i’m exhausted and am very glad I have no cars to test drive tonight, I would fall asleep while looking at the car’s specs.
Sort of feels like my blog has turned into a biking/sewing blog. When I learn to sew while biking then I’ll have a real story! In the meantime I shall entertain my readers with quotes from the day. “Get a move on you Chinchilla!” “Take the lead Captain Hot-pants McGee.” “AAAARRRRGGGGHHH!”
Shorts, tank top, hours and hours of biking equals one really happy Julianne. This is my second Saturday not working my second job and it’s the best desicion I’ve ever made. I feel like a person again. I’m off to test drive some cars now. Hopefully, I don’t wreck them two seconds off the lot. The last time I drove a car was in September when I drove back and forth from the house I was watching to work. Shut up world, I’m in great shape and don’t have commuter’s ass. So there.
This is the coat I made this weekend

16 hours of blood sweat and tears. What I like about this picture is that you can’t see the imperfect bits (yes, there are some). I’m still trying to get my life back together, it’s taking longer then I would like:)
If you are wondering why the picture is sooo big, it’s because I can’t A: open adobe photoshop anymore and B: I can’t remember how to make the word coat a link to the picture. [Ed. The picture has been resized to an easier to digest size and you can click for a link to the full picture.]
